The immense cathedral doors, made in bronze, were realized in Constantinople in 1065. Whilst wandering through the picturesque lanes of Amalfi, lined with tiny white cottages and shops, it is easy to catch a scent of the “sfusato” lemons which grow in abundance on this stretch of coast and are used to make the area’s highly prized Limoncello liquor. After the morning panoramic tour on the Amalfi coast we will go to an agricultural / wine estate in the Vesuvius park, where we will have a lunch preceded by a tasting of locally produced wines and a visit to the farm. At the end departure to Pompeii. Visit with your private guide the luxurious villas and temples, theater and forum of the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, destroyed in AD 79 by the Vesuvius eruption. The Baroque of Noto is in fact a game of elegant curves, floral intertwining, perspective views, palaces and gardens, capitals and putti that decorate the facades of churches and monasteries. Palermo preserves monuments of the Arab-Norman period including the beautiful Cathedral, the Martorana Church, one of the most fascinating Byzantine churches of the Middle Ages in Italy and the Palatine Chapel, the highest example from the historical-artistic point of view , of the coexistence between cultures, religions and apparently irreconcilable ways of thinking, since Byzantine, Muslim and Latin workers were involved in the wise management of the power of Ruggiero II. Along the way there will be a gastronomic surprise at a historic focacceria. Free lunch to follow.
