Overview : 

Discover Valletta and authentic local food, during a private walking tour in the historic center of the Maltese capital. During the tour you will visit all the main historical sites such as St. John's Cathedral, admire breathtaking views, taste local street food, before ending with a lunch in an atmospheric restaurant in the center of Valletta where you can try Maltese cuisine.

The tour is a unique experience that offers the opportunity to visit Valletta and learn about Maltese history through its monuments, masterpieces of art and cuisine, always accompanied by an expert local guide.

The tour starts in the historic center of Valletta, a Unesco World Heritage Site, with the visit of the Barrakka Gardens, an ideal point from which to enjoy breathtaking views of the Grand Harbor. You then stop to admire the 'Auberge de Castille”, the old building that housed the knights coming from Spain which is now the residence of the prime minister. The guide will lead you through the most characteristic streets of the center, such as Republic and Merchant Street before arriving in front of St. John's Cathedral, the “home” of the Knights of St. John's where are situated masterpieces of Caravaggio, like the famous Beheading of John the Baptist. Visit to the Co Cathedral. 

The tour continues, with a stop in an ancient cafe in the city center for a tasting of the local street food, qassata and the famous pastizzi (puff pastry that are stuffed with cheese or a curried pea mash.) A typical food that simply says "Malta", accompanied by Malta's national drink, Kinnie.

After the Street food tasting, the tour heads towards the Grand Master's Palace,a majestic complex  which now houses the Maltese Parliament, visiting its rooms adorned with Baroque decorations and ancient tapestries. In case of Reunion of the Parliament the visit is carried out only externally and replaced with that of Casa Rocca Piccola, an ancient noble palace of the sixteenth century, and residence of the Marquis de Piro. During the tour of Casa Rocca Piccola you will learn about the unique customs and traditions of the Maltese nobility, you can see a collection of furniture, silver and paintings as well as a World War II Air Raid Shelter.

To finish our walking Tour in Valletta , nothing better than a traditional Maltese  lunch. The restaurant chosen, is a dining venue which, located in a typical bakery, combines traditional Maltese cuisine, history, memorabilia in a relaxed environment right in the center of Valletta. 

Maltese cuisine has been influenced by the dominations and cultures that have occurred on the island over the centuries, but has maintained a unique character in its approach to fresh ingredients, with traditional recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation ..Gozo Cheeselets and Bigilla,Stew Rabbit, Bragjoli ..and Imqaret are only some of the local dishes you will try during your lunch.
